Goodies from anatomicals

received a pleasant surprise when i reached home.
taddaaahhh. simi lai eh?

It's a package of 10 goodies from anatomicals.
According to google, its a UK brand, known for its quirky titles.
I get it, but I don't.
Some titles makes sense, but some not - maybe because its in the UK context.
Maybe they should make Singlish kinds.
Hmm, AWESOME SUGGESTION RIGHT!

If you've seen my instagram, I've gotten these lovely stuffs~

swee hor?

lame title.

haven't used it yet, but obviously am happy to receive these stuffs.
Thanks anatomicals SG!
The goodies is worth over SGD50!
I'm a lucky baby!
----------------
Had an awesome dinner with my bf at star vista.
It's located at buona vista.
Went there when it was just 2 days old -.- and there wasn't much other than bad smelling fresh paints.
It was a bit better today!

We headed for Manhattan fish market and bought their student meals.
$5.90-$7.90, not including taxes (sian, singapore everything also tax)

I LOVE THE MUSHROOM SOUP. BF LOVES IT TOO!

the wrap was good! and the chicken was really cripsy!

I dont remember me eating MFM before
If i'm not wrong, this is my first time, and I'm sure I wanna go back again!
Rather cheap deal with student price for what I get.
At least it's less than $10!
Wallet-friendly for poor student couples like us -.-

Probably going back again for their Giant Platter since bf has vouchers.

We headed for desserts, after coming out really full.
Had a bit of stomachache and really wanted to keep farting (too much info hehe)
So I kept warning my bf - I'm gonna fart *faking farting sound with my voice*

Ate this for dessert.
Endorsed by Zhang Yaodong - possibly the owner of the Sg franchise?
Not very worth the price, comparing to what I ate in China.
Costs $4.50.
China's portion was bigger than this lor!
tsk, singapore ah, really too expensive!

Finalized- Bangkok trip in the making

Tumblr_mavd9seltk1ro80m0o1_500_large

Well, pestered my bf for these few days, asking "WHEN'S MY BKK"
LOL
So he decided to just give in and book it today.

However, booking the air tickets is not a smooth process at all!
damn jetstar!
Everything was done till the last step, and they didnt prompt a confirmation.
Money should have been paid though, but they didn't show the confirmation page.
He's worried now, and he thing is, he needs to go to school!
Oops, I'm so sorry for wasting your time :(
Should have wait till night.
Now he cant go to school and may be late - and he needs to hand up his assignment!

We're taking Tiger Air there and Jetstar back (if Jetstar quickly settles the problem).
So, more details to come!

The jetstar glitch dampened my mood though -.-
JETSTAR, Y U LIKE TIS.

Harry Potter Exhibition @ ArtScience Museum

Vroom Vrooom....
this is the sound I heard when I was at marina bay yesterday.
The F1 cars moved really fast I must say, luckily I didnt buy tickets to watch it.
Not my cup of tea.
Anyway, was there for the Harry Potter Exhibition.

Before I went, I googled people's blogs to see if it was worthwhile.
Some said yes, some said no.
But I was thinking, since there's not much things to do in Singapore, why not go there pak tor right.
Sadly, my bf is no harry potter's fan -___-
But, he gamely went with me :D
So nice!

It was $20 per ticket - for Sg citizens only.
you know, I actually thought I could only stay in there for 1 hour and they'll ask us out -.-
Cause the tickets booking site put per hour entry.
Chey, the person say can stay in there as long as I want. Yay?

But, NO!
I mean, as a Harry Potter fan, I am kinda excited to see the stuffs and blah
but, it was so small!
I came out within 1 hour. wah lao eh.
No pictures allowed somemore! Take photos then fun ma!
I still asked my bf to bring his DSLR -.-'''

The first stop was photo taking, and so, we were given the Gryffindor scarf
and KA CHA!
a photo was taken.
Funny thing was, they forgot to take our scarves back.
But being honest people, we returned it back to them.
One scarf cost $40 leh, dont pray pray.
But we dont wanna end up being thieves.
Actually I didnt know I'd to return it. thought it was door gift, stupid me.
Then my bf turned back and looked and saw the staff taking back the scarf
-_______________-
NVM

The exhibition was so so la.
I think my bf was bored.
But he said, "okay ah".
Okay lor.
I was expecting much more magic.
But, it was just mehhh

Worthwhile to go?
I still think Yes.
After all, there's not much chance to get close to HP stuffs unless you travel overseas
But my 20bucks aint worth it.

Food: Meiji Almond Icecream. I LOVE IT!!

Recently, I've been eating this particular dessert every day after I reached home from school.
You know, uni life is stressful.
I am always hungry after I reach home.

Thankfully, my dad bought icecream - 6 boxes to be exact.
And it was an icecream that I've never seen before.

Tadahhh!
So delicious, that we emptied a box already -.-
Have you seen this before?
I was shocked to see Meiji icecream!
I thought meiji only got chocolate and biscuits, got ice cream one meh?
And oh my, their ice cream is nice - the thing that is delicious is the chocolate.
Not the vanilla, the vanilla taste like any other
Even my mum says it's delicious, which was why my dad bought a lot more!
Maybe there was discount, idk.
The almond chocolate was so crunchy, and the icecream wasn't too sweet either.
can you see the number of little almonds? these are the crunchy parts! nom nom nom
the vanilla was not bad.
Sharing this because I really think its a delicious ice-cream!
Furthermore, Singapore is so hot these days.
Makes me feel faint and giddy after walking under the hot sun for just a few minutes.

Not sure of the price of the ice-cream though.
Let me know if you checked it out :D

Thanks to my dad for buying this.
Hoho

Bangkok - the preparation

Bangkok, land of smiles?
I hate planning for trips -.-
I was supposed to wake up early to study, but it's 12fpm now, and I haven't read a single notes!

The moment I did was to check out the deals for BKK,
One tip for coupon buyers - PLEASE CALL BEFORE YOU PURCHASE THE DEAL.
There is high chance of you paying additional amount!
Thank god I didn't ask my bf to buy the deal yesterday.
If not we'd have to top up $200 on top of our deal, probably because we wanted to fly in Dec.
And, damn, Dec is an expensive month to travel -.-

Currently fretting over hotels and air tickets.
Can't decide which to book - timing and prices are important factors!

Initially, I wanted thai airways, because I've never sat budget before.
No baggages, no meals on board.
I no like, lol
But the timing sucks!
So, my bf told me to check out budget airlines like jetstar and scoot

Sigh, budget is not that cheap after all.
I would think that budget would be around the $100-$200 range?
Wrong, a trip to our dear neighbours, Bangkok costs like $350++ for December.
SIAN.

Currently reading blogs on recommendations.
Thank goodness for the internet :D

Hair loss

I've been dropping so much hair that I don't know how to save myself!

The first step is probably for me to change shampoo.
But, since The Body Shop does not have any sales yet, I shall wait before I get their shampoo.

I'm currently using Pantene Nature Care shampoo.
Damn it, make me drop so much hair.

Or is it because I use too much force?
But I've been washing my hair like this, and I hadnt seen so much hair strands on my fingers!
:(

I'm only 22.
I always wish I'd lesser hair, cause I've too much of them - making my head looks too small for my hair volume.
But at this rate, I'm going to be bald.
Stupid me, why did I make such a wish?

Please let me know if you see The Body Shop sale in singapore :D

Edit:
I've found the sale!
Look here: http://cherrycheong.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-body-shop-sale.html

Future - home

I want a house.
I want a house that's for you and me.
I want our house to have a minimalist style.
http://emrenoblog.wordpress.com/2012/04/01/minimalist-5-room-hdb/

I want to stay in Queenstown (laugh all you want, don't be a wet blanket and say there's no land to build HDBs in Queenstown, or that it's mega expensive)
(Damn those high resale prices here. Zzzz, how can I afford a new or even resale flat at Queenstown? I love this place, and I've been living here since I was young, but.....grrrrr, can't I have a flat nearby, so I can visit my parents whenever I like?)

But ideas, are ideas.
It takes effort, time and money to make it come true.
I am still young; well, not in our parents' context; to get married.
And, apparently, you need 3 years to wait for a BTO flat to be done? :(
If say I apply for a flat with my bf (note: we need to confirm that we can stay together for long as husband and wife. I love him, and of course I am committed. But what about him? And, am I capable of being committed for long?) next year, I be 26-27 when I get my flat :O
I really wanna get a flat first, before we get married.
Please don't ask me to live with your family!
There's so much stories about the r/s between daughter-in-laws and mums.
I don't want to be a part of it!

The thing is, how can I get that much money to get married?!
Sure I hold a university-degree, but I'm not in the medicine field, nor banking and finance that earns big bucks!
I don't even know what future jobs I can hold.
What would be my pay like? $2.5k?
How much can my pay jump?
I can never imagine myself holding a 5 figure sum. Yea, I've no confidence, because I can't foresee myself at the top of the corporate ladder.

Next, can I afford to be a young mum?
Can I afford to put aside my career for a family?
I know I want to get married and have kids SOON.
I want to be able to have my kids financially dependent when I hit 50.
But the thought of giving birth, worrying over their grades - make sure they do well and enter good schools and have a good life - so I can worry less in the future....
Sian, life sometimes sucks

Sigh, once you grow up, you'd realize, everything is so complicated.
Studying is still the best, too bad, I'm not the smartest nor most diligent person.
My grades are just mehhhh, average.

Back to studies again.
Just wanted to talk rubbish and take a break from my readings.

Review: Complete Multi-Purpose Solution Easy Rub Formula

Edit: I've finally converted to Complete MPS! I bought 3 bottles of it. Hope I won't regret the switch :) Look where I've bought it here

Oh her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining
Just received my free trial pack of Complete Multi-Purpose Solution Easy Rub Formula!

We all know that our eyes are windows to our soul.
We have only one pair of eyes to see the world, so it's super important to take good care of them.

I've been a contact lens wearer since I was 17.
That's 5 years till now.
When I started wearing contact lens, I bought the permanent kind (which can last for 1-2 years)
The saleswoman at that specs shop told me this was a cheaper alternative -.-
Anyhow, I realized that, monthly or in fact, daily contact lenses are more hygienic.
Hence, I changed to soft disposable monthly contacts after 1.5 years of permanent contacts.
You don't want to keep wearing the same pair of lenses for 1 year, which has accumulated so much debris right?
Even though I'm wearing monthly lenses, I still think daily ones are better.
Sadly, the cost is an issue.
But never mind, with daily proper lens cleaning, I'm sure my monthly lenses will turn out fine!

According to Complete Multi-Purpose Solution Easy Rub Formula from Abbott, this is a easy rub formula.
Furthermore, the multi-purpose solution (MPS) helps to clean, store, remove protein, re-wets, rinses and disinfects your lens!

 Tips for all:

  • Never wear your contact lenses to sleep! I get appalled when my friends go to sleep during camps, just so guys wont see them without their lenses. Girls, beauty if short-lived, but your eyes can go a long way till you die -.-
  • Always remove it once you reach home, let your eyes have enough rest. The moment I reach home, I would wash my hands with soap, clean it, before removing my lenses from my eyes!
  • Wash your contact lenses casing too. You wont know how dirt could have flew into your casing.
  • Rub the lenses on your palm with the solution. Then drop it into the casing and filled it with solution!
  • I always try to wear spectacles on weekends, unless I'm heading out to meet my girlfriends. I don't even wear contact lenses just to meet my bf haha. Somehow, I don't see a need to look pretty in front of him, but rather my girlfriends!
  • Take note to throw away your solution before expiry date too
I think a video does better talking than words, so...
I'm flattered that I've done all the right steps as of the video!
Seems like my self-education was right all these years haha!

Verdict:
I've been using the solution for the past two days.
I've always been using another brand's MPS and this change was rather good.
At least I managed to step out of my comfort zone, to try a new brand!
The first use was good.
When I put my lenses on, it was comfortable and did not sting at all.
What's important in a MPS, is that it allows your lenses to be clean and hydrated.
Plus, you need to feel comfortable wearing the lenses that was soaked in the solution!

That's all for now, remember to take care of your eyes ;)

2D1N Soju Bang @ Tanjong Pagar

Just came back from the bbq buffet at Ssiktang.
Errrghhhh, I smell like bbq meat even after bathing!
Any idea how to get rid of it, other than mass spamming shampoo? :(

Anyway, I wouldn't say the food was good.
Well, because I'm not a meat lover.
I'd always pack the meat on the lettuce and put a few pieces of garlic
(oops, no wonder I kept farting hehe)
Sometimes, the lettuce gets so bitter that I just throw it aside.

Comparing to the authentic one I had in Seoul, this wasn't very delicious.
I think the restaurant is able to get their customers because of a good brand reputation and marketing from internet savvy-customers.
(By blogging about them, I'm already marketing them lol)
Furthermore, they don't use the pot I used in Seoul -.-
Minus points for authenticity!
This one, at home I also can do -.-

Go early to avoid the queue, well, there wasn't much customers today.
I went at 530pm, and was the 5th to get in.
Stayed till 845pm. LOL.
But seriously, I didnt eat a lot.
Unless you love meat, you'll get sick of the bbq easily.
Furthermore, you'll stink!
Thank god I was sitting beside the windows :D

In case you're wondering,
Total damage: $24.
Review: overrated. Try other nearby stores. There's plenty at Tanjong Pagar, and uses the authentic BBQ grill.

Royal couple coming to Queenstown!

According to the ST, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is coming to Queenstown in an hour's time!
Still thinking if I should go out and take a look, but with the hot weather, I'm kinda lazy :X
Furthermore, there must be a lot of people there!
Or maybe not, because queenstown is quite an unknown place after all, haha.

Meanwhile, Kate Middleton looks really elegant in the photos.
And the royal couple are tall, I saw our PM before and he was tall, but look at this photo- The Duke towers over him, while Kate is around the same height (with heels on)
http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/singapore/story/prince-william-kate-middleton-arrive-singapore-20120911

I really like the dress she's wearing. Nice leh! By Singaporean designer somemore! :D

Okay, I'll probably head out and kaypo after eating my goguma wahahah.

Review: Snapfish by Hp

I've been racking my brains on what to gift my boyfriend!
Fortunately, with a gift coupon to spare at Snapfish, I decided to create a mini photobook for him!
With the gift coupon, all I had to pay was a $2.90 postage fee! Cheap or what?
Unfortunately, I feel a little cheated, because I thought the $2.90 I paid was for registered mail.
Turns out, it was by normal postage, with a $1.00 stamp on it.
Why did I pay $2.90 then? -.-
Never mind, it's cheap enough for my photobook, and I'm quite happy about it :D

see that $1 postage stamp there?!
okay, so I've got my free voucher to utilize, and I headed to snapfish portal to design my book!
Mine was a 5" x 7" custom soft cover photobook (UP.$19.90)
All I had to do was to upload photos (can be via flickr, or from your comp) and you can unleash your creativity!
Organize photos in anyway you want!
And there's even templates to choose from.

front cover of the mini book. mosaic for privacy sake muahaha
anyway, my MINI photobook contains only 20 pages, with a front and back cover for you to put A PHOTO.
Sample page.
You can add in any amount of photos you want in the pages.
However, take note of the size of your photobook.
Too many small photos wouldn't look nice, and it'll be too small to appreciate anyway.
For my photobook, I went with the LOVE theme - of pink, red and white.
So every page is either pink hearts, red xoxo or white patterns.
You can also add in titles and words you wanna say.

The pros of this book is that it came out pretty well.
Decent book for a $2.90 paid.
However, I wouldn't pay $19.90 + $2.90 for such a small book.
Apparently, this is the cheapest photobook on sale at Snapfish
Don't expect glossy or matte photos in your book.
They aren't photos, but rather print-on-photos on magazine-kind-of-paper.
If you wanna save money, you could even print it on your own XD

All in all, I'm glad of my purchase.
Although I hope I could have more vouchers to utilize, if Snapfish allows me to create photobooks just by paying postage fees, I'M GAME! :)

By the way, payment was via credit card.
If you've mastercard or visa debit, it'll do too!

Head to http://www4.snapfish.com.sg/flickrsg/home if you'd like a photobook like mine too :)
Have fun customizing!

(PS: this is not a paid advertorial.)

How do you know if he match?

photo from google images
I think I've found my Mr. Right.
Wait a minute, doesn't people always say this whenever they enter a relationship with someone new?

Here's my reflection list of whether my guy, is Mr Right.

  1. My bf can cook, not very well, but decent enough for me to just lie on the couch, while he cooks me meals. From ba kut teh, to terriyaki chicken (pre-mixed) to fried kangkong. That's nice enough for me.
  2. He keeps his things tidy. Although his house is a mess, his room is pretty decent. He occasionally cleans up his room so as to stop me from complaining.
  3. He doesn't keep his bed. Because Mrs Always Right doesn't too. If my future husband is going to be an ultra neat freak, he can't stand me - I dont fold up my blanket when I wake up
  4. He can clean the toilet, wash his laundry, fixed the light blah blah. At least this means that, I wont have to be the one doing household chores when we get married!
  5. He buys me practical gifts. Although girls love romantic surprises, his practicality is a plus point. I don't exactly appreciate it if my boyfriend spends his $xx on roses, not when they die within days. Get me a bag (no, I don't go branded), shoes, work-related stuffs that I can utilize everyday!
  6. He makes sure to bring me home at night. There're a couple of times when he just send me to the mrt and made me go home on my home. I really hated it, because I felt like he wasn't ensuring my safety. What if I got kidnapped while taking the MRT? (obviously listing stupid reasons just so he can send me home). But, most of the times, he drive me home and at least send me up to my lift. <3 Especially when he lives at the end of the MRT line, while I live in the central.
  7. He has a good temper, while I'm easily jealous, have foul temper, and keeps nagging at him. He has NEVER shouted at me, at least YET.
  8. He tried to make me cheesecake for my birthday. Awwwww, few guys do that!
  9. Even when we are both quiet, there is no awkward silences. But if I don't talk to him, most of the times, I'm angry haha!
  10. Truth be told, I'm not a shopaholic. I shop like a guy, that is, I go out shopping only when I've something to buy. Or, if my friends has something to buy, and I'll accompany them while chit-chatting. I never like shopping alone, especially without aim. However, when I'd something to buy, my boyfriend would patiently follow me. What's more, he keeps a lookout of my things, and checks if it fits me, offering good advices! Anyway, if I'm buying clothes or shoes for myself, it's for him to see. If he says its not pretty - OUT.

Of course, there are just too many reasons to list.
Whether your other half is right for you, depends on what you expect - does his religion match? socioeconomic background? education etc?
Thankfully for me, all these are not an issue, because my man has similar demographic as me.

A match?
I hope so.

Say something...offline

this is EXACTLY how I feel every time I talk to my bf on whatsapp.
Sometimes he made me real happy, sometimes irritated and sad.

Thursday, September 6, 2012

My eyes have been really dry these days, after wearing contact lens to school.
I'd been trying to blink a lot, or forced yawn so as to create tears in my eyes for lubrication!
Argh, someone please save my eyes.
I am diligently cleaning(rub with solution) my monthly-biomedics toric lenses whenever I remove them from my pupils!

Am thinking about doing lasik, but somehow it feels like an expensive option.

Why didnt I take care of my eyes when I was young -.-
To think I thought wearing specs made me look pretty or cool!

it's my birthday birthday birthday

my bf drew this on the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tab
damn cool let me tell ya! I just love the S note app, where you can draw nice stuffs
<3
Furthermore, it makes those ppl with ugly handwriting look like they've pretty handwriting!
Look at my bf''s writing, in real life, his words are no way as nice as that.
FYI, I drew the heart and the smiley.
teehee!

Had a wonderful day yesterday, post-bday, because I spent it with my bf :D
Initially thought he was sick and couldnt find me, but it turns out to be a BIG FAT LIE.
He made me upset for the whole journey and I cried on shuttle buses, and on the train :'(

But when I saw him outside my door, omggggg, reversal of events.
surprise surprise.
okay, i wasnt very very surprised, but just as glad :)
He came with oreo cheescake that he made (aww so sweet, no the cake was salty -.-) and my comfy chair from ikea!
at least, I spent happy time with him!
He made me feel really loved, even with just a hug. yayyyy

Now, I need to think of something better to celebrate his birthday!

cant control my tears
plan thawrted yet again.
this time, on the eve of my birthday.
disappointment gets huge when youve high anticipation of whats going to come.
i was looking forward to today, a seemingly happy day until i saw the messages.
have been swallowing tears outside school, back home.
feels so stupid now.
but then again, what can i say?
i'll make myself appear like a selfish being that only cares about me.

its okay, after all, ive empty walls and a lonely soul to accompany me at home.

happy birthday to me.
---
reversal of events.
bf came knocking at my door with my present and a cake.
surprised.

i probably should be more optimistic.
