Hawker Food in Tiles

It's been a long time.
I've been too busy - okay, this is an excuse - but with instagram, I just found an outlet to blog...in photos.

Here's the food I've eaten since my last blog entry.
Well, it's all hawker food - mainly from Redhill food centre - but I adore them.

Hawker food, ftw.

Movie Premiere: The Croods 3D

Absolutely elated that I got a chance to get DreamWorks' latest movie - The Croods.
It was really crowded yesterday at GV VivoCity.

It was my first movie premiere, and the first time catching a movie at GVmax.
It was really huge, and can sit about 600 odd people (hehe, found it online)
The seats were big too - just like Seoul's; even the leg rooms were super wide.

Anyway, before entering the theatre, there were strict rules enforced.
Cameras and handphones are not allowed, and we had to deposit them in.
There were also security bag checks.

Catch it in cinemas on 21st march in 3D!
The movie didn't bore me at all - I laughed, and I cried.
I'm sure you would too!

Day trip to Johor, Malaysia

My second time going into Johor, and I really think it's a breeze.
Changed my ringgits at Kranji station - 50sgd for around 120 ringgit.
Let me tell ya, I only spend around 20 odd ringgits in Johor teehee
Well, the rest were kindly subsidized by my bf :D thank you thank you

This is going to be a food post in City Square
We stayed in City Square for only a few hours before turning back into Singapore.
There's nothing much there - it's just a typical shopping center.
BUT, food prices are so much cheaper for Singaporeans.

1. Arashi Japanese restaurant
i highly recommend this place because of its affordable food
a similar meal in Singapore cause the same, except one is in ringgit, another is in sgd - you decide.

2. Meet Fresh, Xian Yu Xian

What's there to do after your meal?
Take a walk around City Square.
If you're hungry for desserts, check out Meet Fresh, which sells Taiwanese-styled desert
Think shaved ice, herbal jelly and delicious chewy taro and tapioca balls
YUMMY.
My must try when I go to Malaysia

MUST TRY!

3. Macarons at Lavender
Tried the macarons at Delifrance, but it was kinda bad.
Walked past Lavender and I bought the green tea macaron
It was so much nicer than Delifrance's! (but I still prefer Canele's)
For around $1.50 a macaron, it's really much cheaper than Singapore's.

I'm so going back to spend my 100 ringgits, this time, KTV or movies maybe? :)

Riders' Cafe

Hello there!
Been hearing and seeing so many blogs talking about Riders' Cafe.
Since I kept talking about it, my bf decided to bring me there :D

Well, it was a pretty special experience but yesterday was really scorching hot (then it rained when I went to Bedok 85 -.-)
Reserved a seating at around 11.30am - it's good to book for reservations, but it wasn't as crowded as I thought.
Just to let you know, there's no air con.
And, occasionally you'll get to enjoy the smell of dungs. (I smelled it the moment I got off the car, and while I was eating, there was a time when the smell was pretty strong *puke*)
How wonderful.

Kinda disappointed that they menu papers were....dirty... T.T

I highly recommend this smoothie - felt like I was drinking some health potion which immediately got me going "OOOH"
according to the menu, it consists of orange juice, banana, berries, yoghurt and honey.
yumz
Sunrise Smoothie
I LOVE RASPBERRIES!
IT WAS SO HEAVENLY AND I FELT KINDA IRRITATED WHEN MY BOYFRIEND TOOK MY BELOVED BERRIES AWAY :(
but well, he paid for everything..so..I shouldn't complain hehe (thank you <3)
And sorry dear bf, that I didn't finish the french toast
I'm a rather small eater - just can't finish the whole thing
They should have given me more berries la~
Brioche French Toaste with Berries and Vanilla
Mybfsofail. I trusted him with his photog skills but.... -.-

anyway, the tomato (SEE, U CAN'T EVEN SEE THE TOMATO, LOUSY SKILLS LA YOU) was delicious
DELICIOUS!!!!
I'm salivating as I type this sigh
Blackstone Benedict
Managed to find this from my digicam - sorry for the blur photo
Well, at least you can see the runny yolk and a little of the tomato LOL

Anw, thanks to my bf for his treat.
The total bill came up to $40+ for just 2 of us.
XIE XIE NI.

I'll just leave this post with two photos taken by him - a special bald looking tree

Happy 10th monthsary! Feels like I've known you for very long, but we actually just know each other less than 2 years.
Thanks for everything! :)

Bedok 85 Fengshan Market - Hawker Food Galore

My first time at Bedok 85 hawker.
It was kinda unlucky that it poured really heavily on our way there
Thankfully it cleared by the time we ended our dinner.

Anyway, my bf said chicken wings are famous there!
Also, there's the famous soup ba chor mee.

Sorry for the blur photo
The chicken drumstick was awesome, not a fan of wings though, but its bbq sauce and chewy meat texture = yummy.
Don't forget to add the lime!

I ordered wanton mee, which was pretty good too!

Hawker food are comfort food for me.
Head over to Bedok 85 if you're around the area!
