KFC Breakfast, Ah Boys To Men 2

Fulfilling day today!
Met my boy for KFC breakfast
First time having its am breakfast, and it's only $2.95
Pretty affordable

Headed to nex for movies, but there was something wrong with their theatre.
Went to ngee ann poly to collect some stuffs.
Kinda like the environment there, and it made me feel like I should really treasure my school life :(
But, I'm graduating soon...without much friends.
Never mind, at least I've found a wonderful partner :P

Went to CCK for movies.
Watched ABTM 2! Finally!
But I felt it wasn't as good as Part 1 - although I must say, it gave non-NS people like girls a peek into NS life.
My bf said there were some exaggerations, but it was pretty much similar to real life NS.
Cried at the scenes when the boys cried receiving letters.
My army brother would be receiving my letter soon too :')

Had our dinner at Alexandra Village Food Centre again.
This time, I ate carrot cake!
$2.50 for a generous portion :)

Blackbird Cafe - Handy Road

I was there on a Saturday morning.
A rather nice place to chill at Dhoby Ghaut, but let me warn you, the service attitude of their staff is rather bad.

I had the Eggs Benny set at $13++
Generally okay for the price and taste.
You can choose between ham, bacon or mushrooms.
I chose the ham.

An experience is enough.
Won't go back again.

Ambush @ Jurong Point

During my school lunch break, we headed to Jurong Point for Ambush.
Sigh, sadly to say, the food disappoints.
Not sure if its what we ordered.

Anyway, on the good side, we had the lunch promotion deal
It ranges from $9.90 to $11.90 ++, which was pretty reasonable.
Comes with soup of the day, drinks and a course

Well, our SOD was some green pea soup (yucks)

I remembered I like their cream of mushroom soup!

Had the bockwurst with cranberry rice set\

Boo, nothing delicious.
Didn't know it came with fries - wasn't tasty too.

Another set was the Ambush Paella
nonono, too much tomato flavour.

Overall, not a decent dining experience.
We told each other not to eat it again
Haha :X

Read someone's vday post, and I could quite clearly see the message her bf wrote to her.
I always feel that words are powerful expressions.
I always hope to receive long love letters - reading them would be a joy, and filled with love.
Alas.

Everything With Fries - Bugis Junction

All photos taken using Samsung Galaxy Note 2, with no editing.

Always wanted to try Everything with Fries since I heard of it.
The name entices me haha.
The image of crispy juicy fries were running around my head.

When I went to EwF at the bugis outlet, it was sooo empty.
Where are the people on a Saturday? And it was lunch time!
There wasn't much people around when I left at 1.30pm too.

Guessed I know why there were few customers - the food was bad.

You can choose your choice of fries with each meal.
Well, the fries are nothing to rave about.
An irony considering that their brand name contains FRIES.
Nono, your fries aren't good.
Ordered the pork chop
with sour cream fries

And the cheese burger with beef.
Had my fries in curry

Seriously, I left the shop with more than half a burger left.
IT'S REALLY BAD!
I will never fork out more than $10 for this - even Macdonald burger taste better :(

Alright, so the people EwF gave us the wrong orders.
We ordered the thick-cut fries from them, but the thin ones were delivered.
Called out to the staff who took our orders (the manager - he doesn't look very friendly), and he came back and told us there'll be thick-cut fries for free.
Hmm, not bad la
But, the thick-cut fries were just average.

Wouldn't go back anymore.
EwF is located at level 4, directly opposite Shaw Cinema next to the escalator.

Yum Cha @ Chinatown

Was enticed by the $1 offer at Sophie's Bakery and enthusiastically went to Tanjong Pagar for it.
The weather was super spoiling today.
Anyway, we made a few turns around (got lost) and found the bakery.
Damn, the coffees were sold out, except for a few buns
Really disappointed - I saw on twitter that macarons were included!
Grrrr, not my luck.

Random walked around and spotted Moo - Bar & Grill.
Again, being kiasu, I walked over after spotting the 1-1 offer!
Sadly the main courses were extremely expensive!
$30 odd dollars for a set, can you believe it?
I guess the 1-1 promo is the only thing that kept customers coming
Didnt see much people inside.
I did not try the food anyway - I don't mind, since 1-1 would meant around $20 for each, but I wasn't hungry.
That said, going to Tanjong Pagar wasn't a waste since I managed to see pretty nice scenery

Walked along the streets to Chinatown.
The rain, is sickening.
And, there wasn't any Chinese New Year atmosphere today.
I remembered when I was young, and my parents brought us there, it was jam packed.
And, I felt like it was CNY!
Not this time - the rain perhaps spoiled businesses and our moods
Also, I guess I'm getting old for CNY, don't even know CNY is on sunday #whut

Settled my dinner at Chinatown.
Ah Baling for $2 with 5 different flavours.
Affordable!

Just average for the mash potato and sausage.
I don't like the mash potato though, it has a weird smell and after taste.
Sausage was well...salty.

And then it was DIM SUM TIME!
Been long since I last went to Yum Cha.
These are what we ordered

The food was decent, though not superb.
Anyway, 3 dishes already made me super full.
You decide if it's worth the $17.70!

Bad review at Meiling Street Hong Kong Street Zi Char

One of the worst Zi Char I've ever eaten.
In terms of service and food standards.

My family went to Meiling Street, in search of the Hong Kong Street (Old Chun Kee), because my mom heard it from her colleague that the food is not bad.
Turns out my mum heard this a few years ago -___-
Wandered around and googled, and I found that the location was at:
158 Mei Ling Street #01-74

Headed there and saw that it was just a coffeeshop with a small stall selling zi char.
No customers, no hype.
Although the banner said Hong Kong Street, it wasn't the one I googled.
But, we were just lazy to walk any further...anyway, Meiling Street is a small neighbourhood
I guess the stall must have closed and replaced by the one we patronized.

Ordered 5 dishes - and the service was really slow.
waited 30 minutes just for our rice to arrive.
When our plates of rice came, there came a plate of pork ribs.
I was expecting food to be served quickly since there wasn't any customers except us.
Finished the pork ribs, and the second dish hasn't come.

Pork rib was too tough, and tasted bland.
It wasn't pipping hot too, I really wonder what the cooks were doing man.
My mum and I can cook better.
Truthfully, this smelled fragrant when it came to our table.
I love kang kongs, but I can't take too much because its very spicy.
Although this dish is spicy, it lacks flavour - really, you can tell, there's no effort or skills in cooking.
We didn't finish this - nobody wanted to eat after a few mouths

This is also a bad dish, it's not cooked!
I wonder why I didn't ask them to recook it - I just didn't want any quarrels, too tired.
The vegetables were hard, and the egg tofu smashed into small pieces.
Don't mind me, but this is WTF

Out of all the dishes, the curry fishhead was the BEST.
LET ME EMPHASIS- the best out of all our dishes, not the best curry fishhead I've eaten.
This pot was at least HOT.
And the curry, spicy.
The fish was average though - the flesh were really white, which means the meat didn't absorb much of the curry.
Well, I'm already trying not to complain
Bad tasting butter cereal prawn as well.
Look at the color, it doesn't look appetizing.
All I can say is the prawns were just too salty; the cereals doesn't taste good either.

If I were to rate, it'll be 0.1 out of 5.

McDonald's and Far East Flora

After a night of BBQ, I was really tired.
My old bones.
Went out in the late morning for breakfast.
I miss McDonald's breakfast!
But the irony is, every time after I finish my crave, I swear never to eat McDonald's again.
Always made my stomach churned uncomfortably :(

Had Macs at the Queensway Branch :)
Been long since I last went there.
Btw, Mac breakfast ends at 12pm during the weekends - good to know for the lazy bums

Went to the Far East Flora beside Macs.
It was like going into botanical gardens viewing flowers haha
Except, it was rather boring - head there if you need to buy your CNY plants!
No need to go there during this period for Valentine's flowers.
Didn't see anything that impresses BOO

LOOK AT HOW BIG THIS IS

May everyone have an enjoyable CNY :)

Kith Cafe, 4point3

If you're around Dhoby Ghaut, this food post is for you.

I've frequent Plaza Sing so many times that food there are just getting boring for me.
Sure there's the new extensions - do try out Canele - but I wanted to enjoy my food out of PS and even The Cathay.

Head over to Park Mall for Kith Cafe if you want to chill.
A rather nice place to drink something and chat.
Guess they have different menus every now and then.
Well, a handwritten menu sure is informal- I wished they had put more designs on it.

gosh, a blur shot. whoever said Note 2 camera is good, pfft

Kith Macchiato - really small cup of expresso with milk and mashmallow.
This was tooo bitter for me, but sugar is on standby.

Next, the hot mocha.
Rather average I must say, and the designs wasn't as nice as what I had at Chock Full of Beans

Tea break over.
We headed to SMU for our dinner.
Wanted to go to The Basement but it was closed for an event :(
Never mind.
We managed to try out 4point3 - another student operated restaurant.
Well, 4point3 reminds me of GPA (haha, geek)

Ordered the BBQ Wagyu Beef Burger + a set (additional $3)
Good thing about this place is there's no GST and service charges.
Comes with fries (meh), salad (average), burger(not too bad), drink and the soup.
The soup was horrible IMO.
But I must say, the wagyu patty was rather delish - juicy.
Ordered the butter garlic dorry fillet set, that comes with rice and salad too.
Hmm, I didn't like this.
Too oily - don't try this.
