Deal.com.sg Voucher Review- The Infinity Hair Art, Orchard *SCAPE

$28 for Matrix Hair Colour or Highlights + Hair Spa Treatment at The Infinity Hair Art, Orchard *SCAPE - Includes Wash + Blow Dry for All Hair Length for Men & Women (Morocco Argan Oil + Matrix Sensoria Hair Treatment + Senior Stylist Haircut available)

Bought this deal voucher from deal.com.sg and used it today.

The Cons

  1. Please top-up extra
I am very prepared for hardselling when using deal vouchers.Just rmb to say NO for things you do not wish to add on. It's up to you, but the reason I buy deal vouchers is because it's more affordable than a $40-50++++ hair dye at the usual salon.
In the case of Infinity Hair Art, they tried to get me to top up extra money for the following:
  • one of the staff advised me to top-up ($18 or $28?) to another brand of hair dye. He said Matrix hair dye is not bright enough and more suitable for aunties who wanna dye their greying hair. I said NO and was firm to go ahead with using Matrix color.
  • Thereafter, they tried to persuade me by telling me to opt for non-ammonia hair dye and to put on a extra treatment/protection to protect my roots. I refused politely as well.
  • during hair washing, they asked if I'd like to top-up extra for a proper treatment using the machine. I told them I'd just need the normal treatment as with the deal.
2. Inexperienced staff
The staff there were young and rather inexperienced. I had 3-4 staff hovering around me
They had different staff helping me with the following:
  • 2 staff to dye my hair - 1 on my left and another on my right
  • alternate 3 staff to massage/wash my hair
  • alternate 3 staff to comb, blow dry my hair
I've no qualms with these extra pair of hands aka extra "attention". But I just felt the service was not sincere enough.
Why need so many pair of hands around a person's head?

3. They took freaking long....
I got kinda irritated that I had to sit there for rather long for someone to dye my hair, to wash my hair, to blow dry...

But guess what, the time the dye was left to set into my hair was rather short -.-

4. Indeed, Matrix (really?) colour was not bright enough
I left the salon with a more even-coloured crown, but it was as if I didn't change my hair color.
Oh well, nevermind.

Pros

  • While they tried to get me to top-up stuffs, they were not persistent
  • They were not rude when I said NO (not sure if they talked behind my back though)
  • Rather polite staff although they kept chatting among themselves like I was invisible
  • Offers tea or water as service
  • Took a very long time to blow-dry my hair, but I guess it also meant they put in quite some effort to make sure my hair was set straight.
  • No strong ammonia smell
  • Treatment was pretty good

  4. Pls think twice for those who are tempted to buy any of their hair service. Nw im seated inside their salon n typing this review. Bought a $48 rebonding voucher n they told me d chemical is too strong for my hair (my hair has been washed n left wet)! Forced to top-up additional $68 to upgrade d chemical! Totally awful experience ever, never felt so angry n unhappy doing my hair! $48+$68 = a lesson learnt!

  5. Please do not buy!

I made an appointment on 19/7/15 at 3pm to do the hair coloring. When I reached at 3pm, I was given a seat and waited the hair stylist for 10 mins. The hair stylist came and the colour chart was given to me to select on the colours. I explained the colour i wanted is normal brown colour, not those shiny brown or gold colour that required bleaching. It is those brown colour that can get over the shelf in drugstore like watsons, guardians. The hairstylist took out another chart from H2o brand and trying to sell me the colour for another $88 top up on top of the voucher. I politely declined (while closing the H2o colour chart) and the hair stylist started to say the hair dye for the deal voucher is harmful for the hair scrap. The hair stylist reopened the H2o colour chart and asked me to choose on that. I politely declined again and told them I am fine with the colour chart for the deal. This 'selling' conversation already 20 mins and I told him i am in a hurry if he is not starting the hair colouring process. I wanted him to start the hair colouring process.

However, the hair stylist continued the 'selling' process and told me the colour chart for the deal is dark colour, more for old people to cover the white hair. He said the outcome will be close to black colour even for the brown. Again, he emphasised the damage to the hair and said my hair is very dry and will damage it further. He opened the H2o colour chart again to ask me pick on that. I politely declined him and the conversation went on for another 10 mins. He is never giving up on selling me the top up.

This sort of hard selling process is so persistent despite I politely declined for several times. The hair stylist has no intention to start the hair colouring without top up on the hair service. This is proved by the 30 mins 'selling' conversation despite my reminder that I am in a hurry. I wanted to do the hair colouring but he is only keen in selling. In the end, I have to leave the salon.

  10. Hi everyone, I just want to WARN all of you about this place.

I went to the one in SCAPE. I had bought the groupon voucher for $108 (keratin + argan oil + hair cut). It seemed like a good deal. The hair stylist, Rayven, recommended me to do a top up of $68 for better products but I told him that it's too much. So then he suggested providing a $20 voucher which I agreed on. He said the products will make the treatment last longer.

When I left the salon, my hair seemed fine but after 2 hours my hair started curling & got freezy (No I did not wash or tie my hair & I don't have crazy stubborn locks. They're just wavy). The treatment is VERY TEMPORARY. I've also felt that the hairstylist took a little under 2 hours to get everything done when in the past, my keratin treatments bought from vouchers online required me to stay on for at least 3 hours in the salon. It's either that the QOD product used is crap or the hair stylist has too much of a carefree attitude & did not leave the product on longer & was not meticulous in flat ironing my hair. When I rang earlier to ask for either a refund or a re-do of my hair (that of which I can only make this evening as I'm flying back overseas tomorrow), they refused & said that if I were to come back, I can only do so tomorrow as the hairstylist, Rayven was off & no one can take over his place. Also, I have to top up $28 for wash & blow. I am extremely angry. They made an appointment for me tomorrow afternoon & it will be a very rushed one for me before my flight. It's just such a shit situation.

Please do not purchase this voucher. The hairstylists also seem rather immature & didn't seem to take things seriously when doing their job, especially this particular person. I felt that I should not have been a nice customer throughout the service as they took me for granted & assumed that I will just be okay with whatever. That is the impression that I got after my visit.

Hope this review is helpful & useful for all.

  11. There is no "pro". This salon is outright dishonest! I bought a hair colour + treatment + stylist cut deal from Groupon. But when I went to the salon at *SCAPE, I was asked to top up $68 to colour my hair. I didn't want to fork out the $68 because I felt cheated! So in the end, I only got a haircut, which I could have gotten at a cheaper price if I had not bought the deal! I did not get what I paid for and I'm going to boycott Groupon and The Infinity Hair Art.

  12. SEP, Sirius Hair Art, Infinity Hair Art are all under the same shady management. Pls don't buy! I bought from groupon for SEP, a year later (today) bought from Sirius and they refused to honor my voucher cuz they are the same management. My experience and review below-

Seriously, one of the worst hair salons I've visited. I bought a groypon voucher a year ago for keratin hair treatment, and when I went down none of the staff took notice of me, just continued to talk. I had to catch their attention, and thereafter a guy by name of Samuel who claimed himself as consultant told me keratin is a lousy treatment (why do u sell and advertise it as very good for hair then)and will have no offer on my hair, yada yada. And asked me to top up for a higher grade one. I refused, and they offered to use the steamer machine for my hair but I have to top up $8 for it.
Afterward the guy kept pushing packages under my nose and told me to grab it fast, last 2 coupons left. I bought $128 for 3x coloring/highlight/treatment and went back again, and had to wait 1.5hr for their services. The color and highlight came out alright, but it took another 3hr to finish instead of 1.5hr as "guaranteed" by the buaya Samuel. Staff were rude and has no concept of customer service, hence I swore never to go back again.

This time, a year later, I bought another groupon for Sirius at midpoint orchard, and I double checked that it was not the same salon I went to. But when I went there, Tada!! The same buaya guy was there, with his team of rude staff. Even though this time the salon's name is Sirius and not SEP and different unit no, they claimed that I am not considered first time user and hence won't honor the voucher. I told them they should have stated they are the same salon under the voucher and highlighted it since existing customers are not allowed to go back. Their reply was priceless- the rude Malaysian girl with medium blonde hair said 'Ms, why didn't you check with us if we are the same salon?'

... Speechless. Scenario as proposed by blondie:

    Sirius: 'hello, Sirius hair salon
Me: hello, are you SEP salon?

Yah, blondie, you are so damn smart. By the way, blonde is really your hair color.

Seriously if they bother to ask my voucher's security code and what type of service I bought, wouldn't it make even more sense to ask for my IC no? Since that would have saved customers a lot of wasted effort. Samuel said he couldn't help me, he helped a client before and he got warning from boss. Yah right.

Another guy said I also wasted their time cuz they reserved one slot for me which became wasted. Yah and whose fault is that? FYI I wasted my whole day plus cab fare, you think I like to waste my time with u?

I asked to speak to whoever boss they have (since they kept pushing everything to 'boss says one') and blondie said with a smirk, if everyone unhappy also calls our boss then won't he be very busy?

True also, given the high levels of unsatisfied customers u must have. They tried to sell me the highlight costs minus whatever I have paid, but I'm just not going to throw in more money into this dump hole.

As an after-thought, good riddance to SEP, they can really only survive on groupon deals with this kind of lousy service. I'm glad they closed down/got bought over.
